A middle aged woman, Iyanu Oluwaseun is currently battling for life after her husband poured hot water on her in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Owo, Owo Local Government.
The first lady of the state, Mrs. Betty Akeredolu has stated that she would do everything within her power to get justice for the victim.
Mrs. Akeredolu, who called the incident “bestial” and “intolerable,” said it was a despicable conduct that could not be condoned under any circumstances.
According to a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media and Archives, Debo Akinbami, the first lady noted that such individuals who exhibit violent behavior do not deserve to live among humanity.
She stated further that the issue was being handled by the Ondo State Agency Against Gender-Based Violence to guarantee that justice was done.
Meanwhile, a man, Taofeek Gbolagade has reportedly beaten his pregnant wife to a stupor for failing to cook a Ramadan meal for him.
According to Vanguard, the incident occurred around 4a.m at their residence in Ogbere housing estate in Ibadan, Oyo State.
An eyewitness told the publication that Gbolagade often beat his wife at every opportunity he gets. He explained that irrespective of the fact that she was pregnant with their second child the man still continued assaulting her. Read more
