Members of the Amotekun Security Network in Osun state have apprehended a man, Bashiru Ajadi, suspected to be a ritualists who allegedly murdered his girlfriend after she visited him in Ajadi Arin village, in Ayedire local government area of Osun State.
The deceased, Ashiata Salimon was declared missing 4 weeks ago after visiting her lover at his residence in the village via Oke-Osun.
Some of her relatives who believed that her boyfriend was responsible for her disappearance took it upon themselves to report the case to Amotekun operatives in Iwo.
The deceased body was later found with some of her body parts missing.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Field Commander of Osun Amotekun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu said the suspects took to his heels when security operatives visited him to take him in for questioning.
“One of the sons of the victim and a friend to her mother reported the matter to us at Iwo community. Our men swung into action but before we got to the house of Ajadi he had fled.
“The matter was later reported to the police and the suspect was arrested at Laupon in Oyo State.
“Ajadi killed the woman and dismembered her corpse at Ajadi Arin Village, Oke-Osun, Osun State“ Shittu said.
