Former Vice President of Nigeria and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has described the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji as a wise man.
Atiku made the submission in his condolence message released on Sunday by his media office following the demise of the first class traditional ruler.
It will be recalled the first-class traditional ruler joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He was aged 93.
The former Vice President in the statement signed by his media aide, Paul Ibe, and made available to Naija News described Olubadan as “a wise man of age whose counsels and fatherly posturing brought a lot of admiration to traditional institutions.”
He stated further that the monarch lived a remarkable life, urging his family, the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, and the people and government of Oyo State to be consoled.
While praying for a peaceful repose of the king’s soul, he commiserated with the entire people of Oyo State for losing two highly-rated traditional rulers in quick succession within a month.
Naija News reports Atiku was making reference to the death of the Soun of Ogbomosho land, Oba Oyewumi Oladunni Ajagungbade III.
Recall the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, died on Sunday morning, 12th December 2021 at the age of 95.
