The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has submitted his nomination and expression of interest form at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
Adeleke who was defeated during the 2018 governorship election by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola submitted his form on Thursday.
He expressed confidence that the new leadership of PDP will return the party to power in the coming elections.
Adeleke after the submission held a closed-door meeting with leaders of the party, with the National Deputy Chairman South, Taofeeq Arapaja in attendance.
The governorship aspirant disclosed that he intends to conclude the aspiration he started in 2018 and to ensure victory in the rescue mission agenda.
He said, “I am back to seek a fresh mandate in our collective struggle for good governance.
“To our party men and women, we seek their mandate to lead the party to victory next year. We are ready on all accounts to provide purposeful candidacy. With God and people, we will take over Osun state next year.”
This is coming after senator Adeleke’s nephew, Dele Adeleke declared his interest to contest the highest political position in the state.
Naija News understands that Adeleke picked a running ticket under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the same party as his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
