The former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, on Friday declared intention to contest in the 2023 election.
Melaye took to his Facebook account to share his campaign poster, adding that he has plans to come back in the forthcoming election
Recall that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Smart Adeyemi, sent Senator Dino out of the Nigerian Senate after winning the Kogi west rerun election.
According to the INEC returning officer, Adeyemi polled 88,373 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Dino Melaye of the PDP who got 62,133 votes.
Melaye who has been away from the public scene for a while on Friday disclosed that he would be back in 2023.
The former lawmaker shared another poster on Thursday, December 2, and stated that he is coming back.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi has described the reports about him making contacts with some people to return to the Peoples Democratic Party as fake.
The Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwaze stated this in a statement released on Friday.
