Eighteen commissioner-nominees sent to the Imo House of Assembly by Governor Hope Uzodinma have been screened and confirmed.
Naija News reports that the commissioner designates were confirmed at the committee of the whole House chaired by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh.
He listed the names of the screened commissioner as: Prof. Duru Emmanuel, Simon Ebegbulem, Dr Prosper Ohyagha, Success Obinna Chinonso, Prof. Ifunanya Okorodudu, Prof. C.O Nwosu, Keziechi Ogaziechi, Barr. Rex Anunobi, Lady Love Ineh, Rubby Emele.
Others are Anukwuem Okechukwu Chukwunyere, Chief Ford Ozurumba, Stanly Obidiegwu, Rt. Hon. Good luck Nana Opiah, Ann Dozie, Prof. Kenneth Kenneth Amaechi, Elias Emedom and Hauia Rabiu Ibrahim.
Recall that during Monday’s plenary, the speaker announced that Governor Uzodinma had forwarded eighteen commissioner-nominees to the assembly for screening.
The speaker disclosed that the commissioner nominees would appear before the house for screening on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a Police Divisional headquarters in Arondizuogu in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State has been attacked by unknown gunmen.
The assailants that attacked the police station on Tuesday around 2 am killed a police officer who was on duty.
It was gathered that the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) of the division left the scene of the attack with a broken head after he was attacked by the invaders.
The unknown gunmen also vandalized a Sienna vehicle attached to the division and DPO’s personal vehicles.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Michael Abattam, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Rabiu, is already on his way to the community to assess the level of damage done by the gunmen.
