Insecurity: FG Acquires 60 Armoured Vehicles From China

The Federal Government has taken delivery of 60 new Armoured Personnel Carriers bought from China to fight the security challenges facing the country.

Speaking on Thursday during the commissioning of the armoured vehicles, Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya, said the new acquisition will strengthen efforts to defeat Boko Haram and bandits.

He disclosed that the hardware is an indication of the government’s commitment to ensure peace and normalcy across the country.

Yahaya, who was represented by Major General Victor Ezugwu, noted that the Nigerian Army will not relent in its effort to get rid of criminals from the Northern region and the country as a whole.

He said; “It is an effort which is in line with the Federal Government’s cardinal objectives of tackling the totality of the security challenges facing our dear country Nigeria,”.

“These platforms we commission here today is in addition to other equipment brought in for the purpose and this underscores the strategic resolve to ensure that a state of normalcy is achieved across the length and breadth of Nigeria.”
