President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the Commissioner of Home Affairs in Sokoto State and Dikkon Sokoto, Alhaji Abdulkadir Jeli Abubakar.
Naija News reports that Abubakar, who is a younger brother to Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, died on Wednesday after a brief illness.
In a condolence message by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu, to the Sultan on Friday, the President said he received with great shock and profound sadness the death of Abubakar.
President Buhari condoled with the family of the deceased as well as the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, for losing someone dear to all of them.
“I have received with great shock and profound sadness the death of your younger brother, Alhaji Jeli Abubakar. As he answered the call of his creator, may God forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with aljanna.
“May Allah comfort you over this incalculable loss of your dear brother,” Buhari said.
This news medium had reported earlier that Abubakar was once the Commissioner of Information and Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the state.
The deceased was survived by two wives and many children.
