The Republican Party candidate for the November 2024 elections in America, Donald Trump, has officially picked Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate.
The former President announced Vance as the choice of his running mate on Monday.

1. Vance is a 39-year-old senator from Ohio, one of the swing states in the US.
2. He was a vocal critic of Trump when the former president first ran for the White House in 2016. He eventually supported Trump, praising the former president’s tenure in the White House.
3. Vance grew up in a working-class family. His parents divorced when he was young. As his mother struggled for years with drug and alcohol abuse, he was raised in part by his maternal grandparents.
4. He is a former venture capitalist and the author of the bestselling memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy.”
5. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Iraq War.
6. Vance later graduated from Ohio State University and then earned a law degree at Yale University.
