The Kano state Fire Service has rescued a 25-year-old man, Abba Yakubu from a well in Nasarawa local government.
The spokesman of the service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, speaking on the incident in a statement on Tuesday, April 5, said Yakubu who is a digger by profession lost consciousness while in the well due to hot weather, lack of oxygen and high temperature.
He said: “Today being Tuesday 05 April 2022, our formation at Kafar Nassarawa received an emergency call at about 09:26am from Abubakar Haruna.
“They found that a well digger of about 25 years old, by name ABBA YAKUBU, found trapped inside a well.
“Victim was rescued alive and conveyed to Murtala Muhammad Special Hospital for medical treatment. He was later handed over to Inspector Aisha Alasan of Kofar Wanbai police division.
“Cause of the incident working in a hot weather, high temperature and lack of Oxygen which is causing him suffocated.”
Meanwhile, a hospital in Lagos, Medville Global Health Center at Ago Palace way in Okota area of Lagos State has been shut down by the Lagos State government.
The action was taken after one Chibuike Nwachukwu accused the hospital of being responsible for his wife’s death.
The Executive Secretary of the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), Abiola Idowu stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the hospital was not registered with HEFAMAA, and did not have adequate medical personnel.
Nwachukwu alleged that his wife died due to the medical incompetence of the hospital.
