A group of youth under the agies of SDP Arewa Youth Mobilization Movement has called for united and a new Nigeria ahead of the 2027 General elections, as the SDP youth organisation advices political, traditional, religious leaders to lead and govern with integrity.
In a press statement signed by the Director General of SDP Arewa Youth Mobilization Movement (SAYMM) Ibrahim Ismail Lawal on Friday, 25th April, 2025 in Abuja.
According to the statemen SDP Arewa Youth Mobilization Movement (SAYMM) is a committed grassroots driven support group working towards the strengthening and expansion of the Social Democratic Party SDP nationwide, we extend warm greetings to all Nigerians. We bring a message of courage and unity to our traditional rulers, religious and political leaders, we bring words of reflection and responsibility.
As we move closer to the 2027 General Elections, we wish to address key issues that demand our
collective attention and action:
The experiences of recent electoral cycles have shown us the dangers of unchecked
incumbency and compromised electoral processes. As patriotic citizens and defenders of democratic ideals, we must work tirelessly to protect the sovereignty of the ballot and
ensure that the will of the Nigerian people is not subverted in 2027. Our movement remains
committed to supporting efforts that will guarantee free, fair, and credible elections
nationwide.
The SDP represents a platform for patriotic Nigerians who believe in justice, inclusion, and
transformation. We believe the future of Nigeria lies in the hands of responsible citizens
coming together under a unified, credible, and people-driven political movement. Our
ongoing coalition efforts are aimed at bringing together like-minded Nigerians across all
regions, religions, and classes to forge a common front for national progress, he said
We are aware of recent public statements made by Prince Adewole Adebayo, a former
presidential candidate of the SDP. While he remains a member, we must clarify that he
does not speak on behalf of the party or our movement. His views are personal and do not
reflect the direction or vision of the SDP or the coalition we are building. We acknowledge
his past role but firmly believe it is time to turn a new page, one rooted in inclusiveness, he emphasized.
party discipline, and commitment to national progress. Our focus remains on building a
credible alternative for Nigerians in 2027.
We appeal to our national stakeholders, elected officials, traditional institutions, and faith
leaders, to lead with integrity. Nigeria stands at a crossroads. It is time for leadership that
unites, not divides; that heals, not harms; that empowers, not exploits. The nation is
watching, and history will remember those who stood for truth and transformation in this
critical moment.
This movement is not just about politics. It is about people. It is about you the Nigerian
youth seeking opportunity, the mother striving for a better future for her children, the
worker demanding fairness, and the citizen demanding justice. The fight for a New Nigeria
is a collective one, and it starts with you. The SDP offers a platform for your voice, your
vote, and your vision, the statement reads.
As a Nation, Nigeria stand at the dawn of a new era. Let us not be distracted. Let us unite. Let us organize. Let us mobilize. Together, through the power of our collective will and faith in a better tomorrow, we can build the Nigeria we deserve, one that works for everyone, he said.
