The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule on Tuesday warned that there would be trouble if the All Progressives Congress fails to produce a presidential candidate that can match the political strength of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Sule stated this as the ruling party elect its presidential candidate in the ongoing special convention at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
The Nasarawa State Governor while answering questions from journalists at the venue of the party’s presidential primary charged the ruling party to produce a candidate that can defeat Atiku.
He further stated that any decision made by the APC would determine its fate in the 2023 general election.
Sule said, “We have to produce someone who can match Atiku and beat him. Any decision less than this, we, as a party, are in trouble.
“So any decision we take will be determined by this factor.”
The National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and other aspirants would be hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling party.
