A group known as the Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ) has accused some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to rubbish the national leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recall that reports emerged on Tuesday that Tinubu has been called on by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to present his asset declaration documents from the Code of Conduct Bureau.
According to Peoples Gazette the development might see the former Governor of Lagos State prosecuted before the 2023 general elections.
EFCC in November 2020 asked CCB to share the details of Tinubu’s asset documents as part of an ongoing probe of the APC chieftain.
The news platform noted that the request dated November 6, was a follow-up to previous demands made with respect to Tinubu’s asset filings.
But speaking to newsmen in Lagos, the National Coordinator of the group, Abdulhakeem Adegoke-Alawuje warned that no amount of opposition would undermine Tinubu, describing him as the most courageous, staunchest politician in Nigeria.
“Tinubu single-handedly brought the idea that packaged and supported President Muhammadu Buhari to become the flag bearer of APC and subsequently led to the unseating of incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the first time in Nigeria and indeed Africa.
“And up till date he has never fought for any benefit from the ruling party, he still maintains the leadership and continues to offer elderly advice to the government of the day without struggling for any contract or position in the government that he sacrificed a lot for to succeed,” he said.
