The Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim on Wednesday met with the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
Naija News reports that the meeting was held at the Abuja residence of Kalu, a former Abia State governor.
Although details was not disclosed, Orji Uzor Kalu announced the meeting in a post on his Facebook page.
He stated that the duo discussed issues relating to the South-East region and Nigeria.
He wrote ”I played host this evening to my brother, former Senate President and former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim. We held a deep discussion about our region and our country, Nigeria at large.”
In related news, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed disappointment over comments made by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer of IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu.
Naija News reports that Ejiofor had slammed the former Abia State governor for visiting his client without him being present for such meeting.
While accusing the lawmaker of breaking protocol, Ejiofor said his visit to the IPOB leader in the custody of the Department of State Services violated court orders.
Reacting in a statement on Wednesday, Orji Uzor Kalu expressed disappointment with the statement released by Ejiofor, stressing that the lawyer is only angry he could not listen to his conversation with Nnamdi Kanu.
According to Kalu, the IPOB leader’s lawyer sounded like someone who is enjoying the crisis rocking the Southeast region.
He also denied taking pictures with Kanu during the visit, adding that the pictures currently in curculation were taken when he visited the IPOB leader at the Nigerian Correctional Service Medial Security Custodial Centre, Kuje in 2016 and later, his parents in 2017.
