The 96th National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has thrown the contest for the presidential ticket of the party open.
The main opposition party reached this decision during the party’s NEC meeting, Wednesday, in Abuja.
The party also appointed former President of the Senate, David Mark as the Chairman of Convention Committee ahead of the presidential primary.
The NEC of the main opposition party commended the dedication of the National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of Iyorchi Ayu for effectively piloting the affairs of PDP.
Ayu was lauded for how he has been organizing the processes preparatory to the 2023 general elections.
NEC also restated its confidence in the ability of the NWC to lead PDP to victory in the 2023 general elections.

The likes of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi and others would be hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the party.
