The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has reacted to the decision of APC Northern governors to root for a Southern president.
Keyamo in a post on Twitter stated that the ruling party has come to stay as the national party.
He claimed that the Northern APC Govs have displayed statesmanship & commitment to the Nigerian Project.
According to the minister, this is one of the most pivotal moments in the history of Nigeria.
Keyamo wrote, “A truly national Party has come to stay. Whilst others hope to cash in on ethnic sentiments to win AT ALL COST, the Northern APC Govs have displayed statesmanship & commitment to the Nigerian Project.
“Take note: this is one of the most pivotal moments in the history of Nigeria!”
Recall that ten governors and a former governor called for the power to be zoned to the southern part of the country in the 2023 general elections.
The governors that made the call include, Aminu Bello Masari, Abubakar Sani Bello, Abdullahi Sule, Babagana Zulum, Nasir El-Rufai, Muhammad Yahaya, Bello Matawalle, Simon Lalong, former Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko, Abdullahi Ganduje, Abubakar Atiku.
