The 2023-2024 Carabao Cup round of 16 will commence tonight, October 31, with two not-too-elite fixtures and then return on Wednesday night, November 1, with more explosive games.
Tonight, four lower league teams will be in action in four centers as they push to continue an unprecedented run in the Carabao Cup.
Exeter City, a team rooted in the 17th spot in English League One, will face off with Middlesbrough, a team that is currently placed 10th in the English second-tier league, The Championship.
On the same night, Mansfield Town FC who are currently placed 4th in League Two, will face Port Vale, a team in the 16th spot in League One.
On Wednesday, the big guns in the competition, including the defending champions of the Carabao Cup, Manchester United, will be in action.
The biggest fixture on Wednesday is arguably the game between the reigning EFL Cup champions, Manchester United, and last season’s finalists, Newcastle United.
It will be interesting to see how coach Erik ten Hag and his boys who have been struggling in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League so far this season, would bounce back to knock out Newcastle from the Carabao Cup for the second successive season.
Below are all the fixtures and kick-off times of the Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) round of 16 in the 2023-2024 season:
